Does God Freely Bless You?

Are you one of those people who knows (and even tells people) that you are freely blessed by God, but it has never occurred to you that there is an expection by God of a give-and-take relationship with Him? Or do you just blithely take the blessings for granted as if God owes it to you and keep on stepping, continuing to use the mouth He gave you for saying foul language and ugly things to people instead of speaking blessings to and about God and giving Him Glory? And how do you treat people? Do you bully? Are you rude or sharp? Are you speaking down to people or are you trying to remember to see Jesus in every face and speak to them accordingly--even at the windows of drive-through restaurants? (Not only 'What Would Jesus Do', but 'What Would Jesus Say'). I think we all struggle with some of these things. As the Word says, we have all fallen short of the Glory of God. But if you're not aware and sincerely trying, it will catch up to you and bite you one day, either on this dimension or the next! And God knows your heart and whether you're sincerely trying--or if you're merely pretending to be a Christian but not fully committed because it would be inconvenient to your chosen lifestyle. How long do you think that will fly with God? Time IS short. Christians have been expecting Jesus to return for over 2000 years, true. But if you compare what the Bible says to current events (especially the fact that Israel became a state in this current generation, no matter which date you use. Google it),  it adds up to the fact that Jesus is due any day!

Let us prepare. He may come tonight. Will you be ready with a cleaned-up mouth? Or were you trying to get away with it as long as you can?  If so, just when is the last day? Although God IS love, He is also righteously just and it is my fear that all this receiving blessings without blessing God in return will have serious consequences the day we each stand in front of Him. Although the main thing He will ask is "How many souls did you bring to me?", how we acted and the words we said (or didn't say) on earth will also be taken into account to determine the outcome. Bless God!
